Psychotherapy: with Juan

Hello, I am Juan Michael. I am a London based Psychotherapist and (owing to my ongoing professional development in Analytical Psychology) a “Becoming Jungian Analyst.”

I offer ongoing therapy once, twice and three times a week.

If my images and/or words resonate with you feel free to reach out. We could arrange a first meeting which would be a chance to explore how things are for you; your interest in therapy at this time and whether I might be the right therapist to accompany you on the next stages of your inner/therapy journey.

Best wishes,

Juan.

Welcome

You are welcome in your individual gender, sexuality, relationship diversity, race, ethnicity, heritage, social class, religion, spirituality, health diagnosis or with any disability. You will be welcomed with a respectful and non-judgemental attitude.

Therapy

Therapy is a process that makes space and time for you. In a safe and consistent environment you can begin to express yourself. Therapy isn’t always comfortable because being more open can be uncomfortable. However, with time and trust there can be relief, clarity and growth.

Supervision

Supervision is a regular space for therapists to support themselves and their practice through discussion, exploration and reflection. I offer supervision as a relaxed, containing and collaborative space; which I hope would be nourishing, insightful and rewarding.

Experience

My basic training was shaped by psychodynamic, gestalt and transpersonal psychology. I am registered with the BACP and UKCP and adhere to their ethical frameworks. I have worked in organisations in state and private education sectors, ELOP and Re-vision’s Low Cost Counselling Service. I have experience in NHS psychiatric and community settings. Currently, I am a tutor on Re-vision’s Integrative training. Owing to my ongoing professional development, in Jungian Psychology, I have experience working with people at depth.

Approach

My approach is relational and places value on establishing a constructive therapeutic relationship. As such, my demeanour is generally warm, thoughtful and empathetic. With space for humour and lightness, I will approach you in a professional and dignified manner. I take a non-pathologizing, culturally aware and racially sensitive approach to therapy. My approach gives attention to inner life, conscious and unconscious dynamics as guided by dreams, embodied awareness, realisation and creativity.

Themes

I have experience working with a range of themes including early years trauma & wounding; bullying & isolation; identity issues related to gender, sexuality, race, class or heritage; struggles with relationships & codependency; mental health diagnoses; ancestral, inter-generational & complex trauma; difficulty with depression, anxiety, stress, panic, burnout, breakdown, loss of direction, purpose, meaning, addiction, compulsion and self-harm, spiritual or religious crisis, body image, eating disorder, gender dysphoria and sleep disturbance.

About me: My full name is Juan Michael Gonzalez which gives a sense of my intersectional and cultural identities. I have a Scottish accent, Spanish name and diverse roots. Since qualifying in 2018, I have been offering sessions through my private practice locally in London and internationally online. My style is shaped by the principles of Jungian Psychology and my own particular personality. I have been told I am an attentive listener, calm and non-judgemental.
